Arizona Pro Arte (APA) is a flexible ensemble model for innovation in the performance of classical music through the presentation of professional performances in both traditional and non-traditional formats. When not performing with Arizona Pro Arte, our musicians can be heard with the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera, and other professional organizations both locally, nationally, and around the world.
An important factor in Arizona Pro Arte’s unique and varied performances often includes collaboration with other artistic disciplines. This offers audiences an opportunity to explore music through a blending of the arts and innovative concert presentations. By creating collaborations between performing arts and visual arts, APA shatters common expectations. It leads audiences through explorations of synergies between music, dance, theater, film and visual arts that kindle the kind of meaningful experiences that only the arts can inspire. Through this, we aim to provide new resources to Arizona to expand its cultural richness.
To bring our audiences the most intriguing programs possible, we perform music from a large cross section of history: from Haydn and Handel to Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and living composers including world premieres.
Originally founded in 2004 as the Scottsdale Baroque Orchestra, Arizona Pro Arte is the evolution of a modern performing arts organization encompassing orchestral performances, chamber music concerts, educational outreach, and beginning in 2014, a dance ensemble.
